Congratulations Natalya! You are the NoCoast May Athlete of the Month!!!

Natalya and her girls have been so consistent with their At Home workouts during this crisis and have done a great job adapting the program to what they have at home. More importantly, we truly appreciate how active and encouraging Natalya’s been within our community on our group page. She has been so awesome keeping spirits high and always has the perfect thing to say to those who are struggling. This isn't anything new for Natayla but in our darkest time, she’s been such a bright light shining through. She has always had a spe...

Congratulations, Chris! You are our April Athlete of the Month!!!

Chris has been a NoCoaster since the Fall of 2014. His goals are a little different than most, in that our CrossFit program is helping him avoid open heart surgery from a defect he’s had since birth. Over the years, Chris has found a way to use our program with the right mix of scaling, conditioning, and strength training. His consistency and dedication to the gym and our community has not only paid off in his training and seemingly constant PR’s, but we have all benefited from having such a warm and caring personality around for so ma...

NoCoasters, we are starting a new 3 month Black Track Strength cycle next week (April 6th). Normally the BT Strength programming is reserved for those that have gone through the BT application process, but while we're all at home, everyone has the opportunity to jump on our next cycle. We will be focusing on developing our gymnastics strength!

Check out our Vlog for details!!

Good coaching not only allows everyone to become a better athlete, but also keeps them safe and injury free. This is why we don't over program volume; allowing our coaches time to coach and athletes time to learn. This puts everyone in the best place to succeed, day in and day out. Expanding on this idea, we wanted to provide opportunities for athletes to dig deeper into movements and practice without the time and loading constraint we see on a daily basis during class. Therefore, our addition of Specialty Classes has allowed our coaches and athletes to immerse themselves in a much slower, less stre...

Congratulations, Frank! You are our June Athlete of the Month!!!

Frank has been at NoCoast for two and a half years. Since he's joined us, Frank has dealt with a shoulder issue that's limited him from a lot of overhead work within our program. But his determination and willingness to work with our coaches and modify or change workouts when necessary has allowed him to become one of the strongest athletes at NoCoast. Frank's hard work and dedication to the program, both through nutrition and in the gym has been utterly impressive. Even leading up to his shoulder replacement surgery last month, Frank w...

This week is the start of a new Black Track Strength cycle. We are adopting a hybrid version of the Westside Barbell Strength program that we've done the past few years in the spring.

Westside is traditionally a powerlifting program, designed to improve your 1 rep max lifts in the back squat, deadlift, and bench press; this is accomplished through heavy days, speed days, and accessory work.

The downside of the program is the amount of time it takes to complete all of the work, the band system on the speed days, and the accessory movements, which most of us are unfamiliar with. My objective is to...
