Progressions for Scaling Movement

August 2, 2018

Our Black Track Athletes have been working hard this summer on Coach Ian's Gymnastic program. Gymnastic skills practice is tough and a lot of times overlooked because it's hard to scale these movements to make practice effective - unlike weightlifting movements, we can't grab an empty barbell or PVC to practice a high volume of the movement at light loads.

Having a coach that can spot you through gymnastic movement or provide you with the progressions to build strength and skill in a movement is an important part of human development. Everyone should be able to perform basic gymnastic movement, and the better you move through these basic movements, especially in your elder years, the better quality of life you will experience.

Here are three video examples that we've published through our Black Track Program of gymnastic progressions and a spotting drill that can meet you where you're at and help you improve your movement.
