June Athlete of the Month: Jeff Martin

Congratulations, Jeff! You are the NoCoast Athlete of the Month!!!

Jeff is one of our most consistent 5:30am athletes. His consistency and hard work in the gym has paid off as he continues to get fitter and healthier into his 50s! Even after breaking his finger, pitching for our NoCoast softball team, Jeff made it back to join in the Memorial Day Murph fun less than one week after surgery!

Jeff’s dedication to our community has not gone unnoticed, from our NoCoast softball team to community day outs, we can count on Jeff. He is a glass half full guy and is always a lot of fun to be around, especially at 5:30 in the morning!

Quotes from Jeff:

“CrossFit and better nutrition have greatly improved my cholesterol and triglycerides. My weight has decreased and my physique is of course better.”

“I firmly believe that you will reap the benefits if you put in the effort. And there is no reason you can’t start later in life. I improved from having trouble running 400 meters in a WOD early on to running a 10 mile charity run a few years back. So now I look for CrossFit gyms when I travel for work or vacation.”

How did you get into CrossFit?

My younger daughter headed off to college and I decided I needed more exercise and had more time on my hands. I was 47 years old and was not ready to be shaped by my couch imprint.
