Now Offering Nutritional Therapy at NoCoast


After years of coaching and running nutrition challenges, I realized I needed to serve my population better. I needed to dig deeper into the topic of nutrition. A year later, I'm a certified Nutritional Therapy Practitioner. There are about 3,000 NTPs in the world right now. We are part of a growing group of people who recognize there needs to be a paradigm shift in how we view health. The Standard American Diet has created problems for many of us. Problems that you never knew could be caused by nutritional deficiencies: cognition, skin issues, mood, loss of energy, resistance to weight loss, infertility, and of course the ever pervasive heart disease, diabetes, and metabolic syndrome. This is the broad brushstroke perspective. If we narrow it down to our specific community, a lot of you make much better daily choices that the typical SAD diet. Many of you have heard us talk about nutrition, read our blogs, and participated in one (if not many) nutrition challenges. Maybe you found your 6 pack, maybe you've seen increased performance, and maybe you look better in your 40s than you did in your 20s.

But do you still struggle to fall asleep and stay asleep? Do you have nagging injuries that persist? Has your performance plateaued? Do you feel heavy and slow in the gym?

Or do you still get those rashes, bad bouts of diarrhea and/or constipation, or have never really lost the weight you've wanted to?

These issues may not be resolved in a 30 day challenge because they may not be tailored enough to YOU. I'm here to help you fill in the gaps. Every person has bio-individual needs that may need some more fine tuning.

As a newly graduated NTP, I am SO excited to offer this new and amazing service to the NoCoast community. So, what exactly is Nutritional Therapy?

  1. NTPs believe food is healing. We believe the six foundations can create life changing results in your health. We follow the foundations to discover your root cause of health concerns: Diet, Hydration, Blood Sugar Balance, Mineral Balance, Fatty Acid Balance, and Digestion. These foundational issues need to be addressed for the human body to thrive.

  2. NTPs believe there is profound bio individuality in each and every person. Every person was born into life with a foundation that is different from every single other person’s. Your genes, your birth, your diet from birth, your environment, your lifestyle all matter when addressing your health. NTPs are trained to look at the whole picture and come up with a plan that serves your needs specifically.

  3. NTPs have tools the support you. I offer you a questionnaire that will help pinpoint some root issues. I have also referred many clients to get labwork done and supplements as needed to develop and support your protocol.

  4. We use the Functional Evaluation and Lingual Neuro Testing to discover more about what your body is communicating. This skill uses reflex points in the body to understand more about areas that are in need of nutritional support.

We do not diagnose or treat disease. But, we can alleviate some of your most pressing symptoms, and make you better. This process is longer than your typical food challenge. It may even take months for you to truly heal from where you are at now. So this process is a personal overhaul that will reap major benefits in the long run.

Health is a journey. And true health is an optimal you. We often talk about longevity at NoCoast. Nutrition IS the foundation. Cleaning up nutrition not only adds longevity to your CrossFit, but to your life. This is another way to live optimally in the gym, at home, and in your future. One of our missions at NoCoast is to make sure you are as independent from disease as possible until the day you leave this Earth. We can’t do that without addressing your fuel. We live in a culture that enables us to go through the motions, busily tackling task after task until we get sick. Take inventory. Build a strong and powerful foundation that will bring vitality to your life-not just your CrossFit life, but your WHOLE life.
